Travelling from London to Nantes with 716 tons of general cargo and 500 tons of steel the Azemmour was torpedoed by UB-59. All the crew made it off before she sank despite her going down in around 4 minutes.

The wreck lies upright and reasonably intact in front of the engine, although aft of the engine is slowly disappearing into the seabed. Her stern gun is still out in the open.
